Air Liquide inaugurates 20-MW German green H2 plant for pipeline supply

Air Liquide has inaugurated a 20-MW PEM electrolyzer plant at its Oberhausen site in Germany to supply industrial and mobility customers through its existing H2 pipeline.

Claimed to be the largest green H2 production plant in Germany, the site will have a capacity of up to 2,900 tpy of renewable H2, using electrolyzer stacks produced by the French industrial gas major’s joint venture with Siemens Energy.

The site will be connected to Air Liquide’s existing H2 pipeline to supply customers in the chemical, steel and mobility industries.

These developments showcase that governments and large corporations around the world are backing H2 as the fuel of the future.
