Air Liquide has inaugurated a 20-MW PEM electrolyzer plant at its Oberhausen site in Germany to supply industrial and mobility customers through its existing H₂ pipeline.

Claimed to be the largest green H₂ production plant in Germany, the site will have a capacity of up to 2,900 tpy of renewable H₂, using electrolyzer stacks produced by the French industrial gas major’s joint venture with Siemens Energy.

The site will be connected to Air Liquide’s existing H₂ pipeline to supply customers in the chemical, steel and mobility industries.

These developments showcase that governments and large corporations around the world are backing H₂ as the fuel of the future.
