Everfuel has unveiled plans to roll out a green hydrogen refuelling network in Denmark, setting a target of having 19 stations fully operational by the end of 2023. The new network will form part of the Danish company’s hydrogen fuelling strategy for trucks, buses and cars across Scandinavia.
The network will include sites already developed by Everfuel, including fuelling stations in Esbjerg, Kolding, Aarhus and Korsor, as well as a high-capacity station at Amager in Copenhagen, which is set to start operations in July.
“We are now accelerating dialogues with all relevant stakeholders to commercialise hydrogen at scale and decarbonise transport in Scandinavia” Krogsgaard, Everfuel
Everfuel’s Scandinavian fuelling network will initially cover Norway south of Trondheim, Sweden south of Stockholm and Denmark. The network supports an initiative called String, an EU co-financed project with a public-private-partnership aimed at establishing a hydrogen corridor with refuelling stations from Hamburg to Oslo.
“Based on these plans, we are now accelerating dialogues with all relevant stakeholders to commercialise hydrogen at scale and decarbonise transport in Scandinavia,” says Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO of Everfuel.
Car-maker Toyota welcomed the new network.
“The investments are…very much aligned with the fact that we have just introduced our brand new, second-generation zero-emission hydrogen car, the Toyota Mirai, in Denmark", says Toyota Denmark CEO Alar Metsson.
